Om

Jeg er interessert i andrespråkstilegnelse, spesielt i vokabulartilegnelse og lesing på et andrespråk. Forskningen min har hovedsakelig fokusert på tilegnelse av engelsk i Norge, og om det å lære engelsk gjennom uformelle aktiviteter utenfor klasserommet som å se film og spille dataspill har betydning for hvor godt norske studenter er forberedt på å lese akademiske tekster på engelsk ved universitetet. Jeg er også interessert i språkpraksis i høyere utdanning generelt.

Experiences of Norwegian and English among international staff at NTNU

This project investigates language practices as perceived by international staff (those who did not grow up in Norway) at NTNU, and how these may influence their participation in the workplace.

AELPP: Attitudes and Experiences toward Language Policies and Practices at NTNU

This research project wishes to collect data on how all NTNU employees and students experience language policies and practices, and their attitudes toward the use of Norwegian and other languages.

Learning and Assessment in Linguistics

This project focuses on assessment design and investigates the validity of a portfolio assessment as a tool for learning in linguistics for the purposes of testing the efficacy of incorporating formative assessment tasks into online teaching

Formidling

European Commission webinar on: Language acquisition inside and outside the classroom

This webinar will focus on how activities outside the classroom like gaming can contribute to language acquisition and how we can support young language learners to make connections between the language they learn inside and outside the classroom.

Multilingualism in Norwegian universities: research, realities, and role models

This presentation discusses the presumptions made about multilingual competence among staff and students in Norwegian universities in order to highlight the importance of acknowledging the role of multilingualism in education.

Insights from reflections on early extramural English: Benefits for teaching and research

This exploratory study found that L2 vocabulary size was significantly predicted by the age of reported earliest activities in English and that reflecting on early experiences with English gave students new insights into their own language learning.
