Hilde Johnsen Venvik
Bakgrunn og aktiviteter
Hilde Johnsen Venvik, født i Bergen og oppvokst i Tromsø, er sivilingeniør i teknisk fysikk fra NTH, 1993, og doktor ingeniør fra Institutt for fysikk, NTNU, 1998. Doktorgradsarbeidet ble utført innen eksperimentell overflatevitenskap, der «Scanning Tunneling Microscopy» ble benyttet til å studere overflater av kobolt og platina enkrystallprøver på atomært nivå. Forståelsen av adsorpsjonsfenomener på slike overflater er relevant innen heterogen katalyse, og metallet kobolt er spesielt interessant for dets egenskaper som katalysator i prosessen konvertering av naturgass til flytende drivstoff («Fischer-Tropsch»).
I perioden 1998-2004 arbeidet Venvik først som forsker ved SINTEF Kjemi, avd Reaksjonskinetikk og katalyse, og etter hvert som seniorforsker ved det som ble hetende SINTEF Materialer og kjemi. Ved SINTEF arbeidet hun i hovedsak med katalyse for hydrogenproduksjon og gasskonvertering, og initierte og ledet flere prosjekter finansiert av Norges Forskningsråd.
I 2004 ble Venvik ansatt som førsteamanuensis ved Institutt for kjemisk prosessteknologi, NTNU, og rykket i 2009 opp til professor. Forsknings- og publiseringsaktiviteten er knyttet til heterogen katalyse og overflatevitenskap med relevans for industriell kjemi, gasskonvertering, fornybar energi og hydrogenteknologi. Arbeidet med å oppnå prosessintensivering gjennom bruk av mikrostrukturerte reaktorsystemer og membranteknologi kan nevnes spesielt. Det har vært bygget opp et internasjonalt forskningsnettverk, med samarbeid mot Tyskland og USA. Studieåret 2008-9 hadde hun forskningsopphold ved University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA.
I perioden 2010-15 var Venvik leder av Gassteknisk Senter NTNU-SINTEF (GTS). Med Statoil (nå Equinor) som strategisk partner arbeidet GTS for å fremme gassteknologisk samarbeid, forskning og utdanning for effektiv, miljøvennlig og lønnsom utnyttelse av naturgass. Venvik ha vært medlem av programstyrene for GASSMAKS (2007-12), ENERGIX (2012-16), Norges Forskningsråd.
Fra 2015 har Hilde Venvik ledet iCSI (industrial Catalysis Science and Innovation), et Senter for Forskningsdrevet Innovasjon (SFI) utnevnt av Norges Forskningsråd for 8 år. Industripartnerne i iCSI er Yara, KA Rasmussen, Dynea, Inovyn, og Topsøe og forskningspartnerne er NTNU, SINTEF og Universitetet i Oslo. iCSI har et budsjett på 192 MNOK og skal over perioden utdanne 15 PhD-kandidater og 7 post doc.-stipendiater.
Venvik har publisert ~80 vitenskapelige arbeidet i internasjonale journaler og har en h-index på 27 (ISI-WebOfKnowledge, Scopus). I tillegg kommer noen bokkapitler, rapporter og populærvitenskapelige bidrag. Hun har gitt eller bidratt til > 100 vitenskapelige presentasjoner på internasjonale konferanser og seminarer. 8 kandidater har disputert for PhD-graden med Hilde Venvik som hovedveileder (Astrid Lervik Mejdell, Fatemeh Hayer, Daham Gunawardana, Nicla Vicinanza, Farbod Dadgar, Marie Døvre Strømsheim, Xiaoyang Guo, Stine Lervold), 7 som biveileder, og Venvik har veiledet 38 masterstudenter i kjemiskprosessteknologi og nanoteknologi.
