Lithium-ion battery digitalization: Combining physics-based models and machine learning

Digitalization of lithium-ion batteries for advancing the performance improvement of lithium-ion batteries, enabling smarter controlling strategies during operation and reducing risk and expenses in the design and development phase.

Current Trends for State-of-Charge (SoC) Estimation in Lithium-Ion Battery Electric Vehicles

This review discusses current methods use in BEV LIB SoC modelling and estimation. The review culminates in a brief discussion of challenges in BEV LIB SoC prediction analysis.

Application of Deep Learning to Optimize Gradient Porosity Profile for Improved Energy Density of Lithium-Ion Batteries

This study presents the implementation of neural networks to optimize the gradient active material distribution to enhance energy density. Gradient profiles were mostly influenced by the average active material, rather than the thickness of the electrode.

2D simulation of temperature distribution within large-scale PEM electrolysis stack based on thermal conductivity measurements

This study presents a 2D thermal numerical steadystate model of an industrial-sized PEMEC stack, predicting thermal gradients within the cells in both stacking direction and along the channels of the flow fields.

Structured aqueous processed lignin-based NMC cathodes for energy-dense LIBs with improved rate capability

Laser structuring with ultra-short pulses technique has the potential of outperforming mechanical structuring if the process is optimized to high precision to reduce residual and waste material, due to reproducibility and lower operational costs.

Introducing lignin as a binder material for the aqueous production of NMC111 cathodes for Li-ion batteries

The present study investigates the potential of substituting and fully replacing the commonly used polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) and carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) binders with abundant, bio-derived kraft lignin.
