Hans Petter Ulleberg, Head of the Department of Education and Lifelong Learning, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU)

Ulleberg holds a Ph.D. in Education from 2006 and is employed as Head of Department and Associate Professor in Education at NTNU. His field of research is school environment and socialization with emphasis on primary and secondary school, and has as his special field physical learning environments in schools. Ulleberg has been Head of the Department of Education from 2009-2016 and is currently Head of the Department of Education and Lifelong Learning from 2016-2021. Ulleberg has since 2011 led the National Academic Council for Educational Sciences, Universities Norway (UHR).  Ulleberg is member of the research group “Qualities in Education (QEd)” at NTNU. QEd studies how qualitiy is understood, exercised/handled and measured/described within the educational field. By using different research methods and theoretical perspectives, the research group wants to contribute to discussion and knowledge of different ways of understanding quality in education through interdisciplinary research. Ulleberg is currently project leader of the QEd-project Learning Spaces - The physical design of upper secondary schools and its impact on quality in education (project period 2018-2021).
