Bakgrunn og aktiviteter

My research field is children’s use of digital technology in everyday lives. I take a discourse analytical point of view in my studies of children’s use digital technology in and across settings. Phenomena that I have studied are gaming, playing, learning and identity work. I am interested in methodological and ethical dilemmas in ethnographic and ethnomethodological research with children in different settings. For the time being, I’m working on the use of mobile technologies in children’s play and learning.

Together with Marit Hoveid, I have established the research group, Studies in Pedagogical Practices (SIPP) that runs two seminars with participants from different departments at the university. The interdisciplinary Child and Youth seminar is a text seminar while the Discourse seminar is a wokshop like  activity where we are analysing of data together.
