Om
I (Senior member, IEEE) have been an Associate Professor at the Department of Information Security and Communication Technology (IIK) of NTNU since 2023 and the Department of Electrical Engineering of the Arctic University of Norway (UiT) since 2019. I received MSc and PhD degrees from Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan, in 2005 and 2011, respectively, in wireless communications. I was an Assistant Professor at Waseda University of Japan (2011--2012), a postdoctoral fellow at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (2012--2014), and a senior researcher at SINTEF Norway (2014--2018). I have participated in and led several scientific projects funded by Norwegian Research Council and EU Horizon focusing on using of ML/AI for next generation wireless communications and networks (6G and B6G) and applications of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) in those systems. His research interests also include new communications protocols, secured IoT, Cognitive radio and EH, path planning and optimization for UAVs and radio networks. He has served as a committee member/reviewer for many journals of IEEE, Elsevier, Wiley, IET, IEICE, and AIAA and flagship conferences such as IEEE GLOBECOM, ICC, and WCNC. He has published over 50 international peer-reviewed publications and book chapters. I am also a senior member of IEEE and an Editorial Board Member of Modern Subsea Engineering and Technology.
Forskning
Student Satellite
UNICube is a strategic investment from UiT which will place a 2U satellite in orbit around the earth. Its aim is to engage the students, provide relevant education, carry out research into control systems and space debris.
HE4T
The Interreg Aurora funded project HE4T aims to find energy harvesting solutions for industry needs in sensing without the need for battery power.
QDebris - CubeSat Formation for Space Debris Characterization
Developing advanced scientific and technological solutions for measuring space debris in situ with commercial radars using a formation of CubeSats under coordinated control.
