Jeg er Senior Member i IEEE og har siden 2023 vært førsteamanuensis ved Institutt for Informasjonssikkerhet og Kommunikasjonsteknologi (IIK) ved NTNU, samt førsteamanuensis ved Institutt for Elektroteknologi ved UiT Norges arktiske universitet siden 2019. Jeg tok min mastergrad (2005) og doktorgrad (2011) ved Waseda University i Tokyo, Japan, med spesialisering innen trådløs kommunikasjon.
Tidligere har jeg vært Assistant Professor ved Waseda University (2011–2012), postdoktor ved NTNU (2012–2014) og seniorforsker ved SINTEF Norge (2014–2018). Disse rollene har gitt meg bred erfaring med avanserte kommunikasjons- og nettverksteknologier.
Mine forskningsinteresser omfatter utvikling av nye kommunikasjonsprotokoller for autonome kjøretøy, energieffektive IoT-nettverk, integrasjon av ikke-terrestriske nettverk (NTN) med terrestriske nettverk, samt kommunikasjon for 6G-nettverk inkludert SAGIN (Satellite-Air-Ground Integrated Network).
Jeg har ledet og deltatt i en rekke prosjekter finansiert av Norges forskningsråd og EU Horizon (se “Research” for detaljer). Jeg har publisert rundt 60 fagfellevurderte artikler og bokkapitler, og har vært komitémedlem og fagfelle for ledende tidsskrifter (IEEE, Elsevier, Wiley, IET, IEICE, AIAA) og konferanser som IEEE GLOBECOM, ICC og WCNC. I tillegg er jeg medlem av redaksjonsrådet for Modern Subsea Engineering and Technology.
Forskning
Real-Time Remote Drone Control with Low-Latency Video Streaming over 5G for Media and Entertainment Applications
The project aims to develop and implement a real-time remote drone control system utilizing 5G technology between a drone and pilot station.
Role: PI.

Research on Sensing, Actuation, Communication, and Intelligent Signal Processing Infrastructure for Ambien Intelligence
To develop ML/AI and 6G/B6G network for unmanned platforms such as for an intelligent environment includes people, robots, and other entities.
