CV

I am an Associate Professor of Organization and Leadership at NTNU, Campus Gjøvik, and an Associate Researcher at SIC.Lab Méditerranée, Université Côte d’Azur. My work is driven by a central question: how can organizations adopt new technologies in ways that strengthen effectiveness, sustainability, resilience and human well-being?

My research is situated at the intersection of organization studies, work psychology, leadership, communication, culture, innovation, digitalization and information security. In recent years, I have increasingly focused on technostress, human and organizational factors in technology adoption, and the socio-technical consequences of digital transformation. I study how technologies such as AI, algorithmic management, AR/VR, health and welfare technologies, social robots, surveillance technologies and cybersecurity tools influence individuals, organizations and society at large.

A key thread in my work is the tension between efficiency and well-being. I am interested in how organizations can pursue digitalization, automation, operational improvement and innovation without creating unsustainable pressure, hidden work, deskilling, surveillance, insecurity or burnout. This includes questions of psychological safety, psychological capital, employee engagement, organizational learning, compliance culture, trust and resilience at individual, organizational and societal levels.

My academic work is strongly shaped by my practitioner background. Before entering academia, I worked for around 20 years with information and communication systems in global companies as a line manager, consultant, project manager, IT manager and systems analyst. I have experience from manufacturing and process industries, and from complex multicultural organizational settings in Norway, Switzerland, Belgium and France, with assignments also involving the USA, UK, Sweden and Mexico. This background continues to inform my interest in organizational design, communication, leadership, change management and technology-enabled innovation.

Since 2018, I have also deepened my work in the health sector, particularly around municipal health leadership, health and welfare technologies, cybersecurity, social robots, psychological safety and sustainable technology adoption in care settings. I am especially interested in how new technologies can support health and care services without shifting excessive cognitive, emotional or organizational load onto professionals, patients, relatives or citizens.

As an educator, I teach Sustainable Organization and Management of Innovation at master’s level, and courses such as Organizations and Management, Organizational Psychology and Leadership, Quality Management and Qualitative Methods at bachelor level. I have also worked extensively with leadership development, including as Senior Leadership Development Specialist in Telenor’s Global Learning and Development function, where I designed and facilitated leadership programs for different leadership levels across the Nordics and Asia.

My PhD in Communication and Media Studies from Université Côte d’Azur focused on the role of communication in work-related stress and burnout. I also hold a Master of Management in Organization and Leadership from NTNU, a BSc in Informatics from the University of Oslo, and a BA in Management from Boğaziçi University in Istanbul. Across my work, I combine organization and leadership theory, socio-technical systems thinking, communication research, critical perspectives on technology, and practical experience from organizational life.

I am particularly committed to bridging theory and practice. My goal is to contribute to more reflective, resilient and humane forms of digital transformation, where technology is not treated as an isolated tool, but as part of a wider organizational, cultural and societal system.

I speak English, Norwegian, French and Turkish.
