Hannah Svennungsen works with research and teaching in career guidance at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). Her academic work focuses on career guidance as a field of research and professional practice, with particular emphasis on guidance in welfare contexts and the relationship between policy and practice. She is interested in how institutional frameworks, policy intentions, and professional discretion influence career guidance practices, as well as the use of digital tools, including virtual reality (VR), in career guidance.

Her teaching covers qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods approaches, including Q methodology, and is grounded in methodological and epistemological reflection. She has foundational competence in quantitative research methods and experience contributing to doctoral-level courses.
