Bakgrunn

 

 

Emil har en doktorgrad i fysikk fra NTNU september 2019. Tittelen på avhandlingen hans var "Nanoskala karakterisering av deformert aluminium". han fortsetter arbeidet sitt med å benytte transmisjons elektron mikriskopi for å forstå hvordan aluminium deformeres. Både doktorgradsarbeidet og hans nåværende postdoktor stilling er betalt av "Centre for Advanced Structural Analysis" (CASA) ved NTNU, som er et senter for forskningsdrevet innovasjon (SFI). Fra tidligere har Emil en mastergrad i fysikk, også fra NTNU, der han studerte epitaksielle tynnfilmer av LaFeO3 grodd på (111) orientert SrTiO3 substrat. I April 2020 startet Emil som Overingeniør i NORTEM laboratoriene ved institutt for fysikk.

Forskning

Forskningen til Emil er sentrert rundt transmisjons elektron mikroskopi (TEM). For tiden er forskningen fokusert på å forstå hvordan utfellinger i Al-Mg-Si legeringer skjæres under deformasjon, samt å studere deformasjonsmekanismer i utfellings-løse soner rundt korngrenser i legeringene.
