I am a Ph.D. student in the Department of Sociology and Political Science at NTNU. My dissertation focuses on the Norwegian asylum system, specifically examining aspects relevant to unaccompanied minors during the asylum-seeking process. I investigate how various asylum policy provisions are implemented in practices and arrangements affecting unaccompanied minor asylum seekers in their asylum-seeking phase. My research particularly concentrates on non-medical age assessment tests, country-of-origin documents, and the work of legal representatives. More brodly, I examine the transformation of physical national borders into legal, cultural, social, symbolic, and linguistic practices, and how these potentially shape the outcomes for the asylum claims of unaccompanied minor asylum seekers.
I have a background in sociology and childhood studies from NTNU.
