Faglig innhold

Practical, theoretical, musical, aesthetic, ethical and artistic issues that are dealt with in the perspective of artistic development.

Research, development of ideas and planning of artistic projects

Exploration and description of related artists’ work and work methods

Experimentation, trials, work in progress with audience, response and evaluation

Final presentation and report with documentation

The course can be connected to ongoing freelance projects.

Knowledge:

The candidate

  • Has knowledge about theoretical, musical, aesthetic, ethical and artistic issues recognized in own and other’s artistic work
  • Has knowledge about how to plan and develop an artistic project
  • Has knowledge about how to seek inspiration from other sources and implement in own work
  • Has knowledge about creating situations for exploring, discussing and evaluating as part of an artistic process
  • Has knowledge about documenting and sharing

Læringsformer og aktiviteter

Project work related to or relevant to (parts of) the master project. Cooperation in groups is possible. Compulsory seminars and group discussions in combination with individual work. Independent work between seminars is core activity.Courses and activities at other parts of NTNU and/or outside of the institution that fits the project can be part of /replace selected compulsory activities.

Obligatoriske aktiviteter

  • Tilfredsstillende deltagelse i obligatorisk undervisning.

Mer om vurdering

Process report between seminars, work in progress and final presentation, end report with documentation.The end report must have a scope of 3-6 typed A4 pages of text with line spacing 1.5, 12-point font and standard margins and contain relevant audio/video files embedded or linked. The assignment should be delivered as a pdf with links, or as a locked exposition in Research Catalogue.

Forkunnskapskrav

Requires admission to Master' Degree Programme in Music Performance.

The course is based on group discussions and will need a minimum of 3 students to run.
