Faglig innhold

Practical, theoretical, musical, aesthetic, ethical and artistic issues in specific artistic development projects.

  • Development of ideas and methods in the forming of an artistic practice
  • Exploration, description and documentation of artistic work and work methods
  • Experimentation, trials, work in progress with response
  • Artistic presentation(s) and report with documentary material

The course can be connected to ongoing freelance projects, or other artistic cooperations within NTNU or with external actors. The students have to apply with a description of the project they will work with or the workshop(s) they will attend. The department will not cover any costs for external workshops. The projects will have to be approved by the course coordinator .

The course can be included as an elective in the Master in Music Performance degree. The department assigns elective courses to students based on their prioritized preferences, as well as academic and resource considerations.

Læringsformer og aktiviteter

Introduction seminar

Work in progress presentations as part of workshops or self- organized for fellow students/other responsive audiences and supervisor or workshop leader

Documentation of participation and supervision, depends on your method in this course:

  • For students following a 4-5 day course: 4-6 pages progress report
  • For individual work with supervision: Documented final presentation,10-12 pages reflection with documentation of process and progress, including references.

Obligatoriske aktiviteter

  • Tilfredsstillende deltagelse i obligatorisk undervisning.

Portfolio assessment.

The portfolio must contain an end report with documentation and revised reports on your progress and reflections made towards this specific artistic practice. The reports should be delivered as a pdf with links, or as locked expositions in Research Catalogue.

Forkunnskapskrav

Requires admission to Master' Degree Programme in Music Performance.

The course is based on group discussions and will need a minimum of 3 students to run.
