After completing the course the student is expected to:

Knowledge:
- Have knowledge of various aspects of the concept of culture
- Have knowledge about different views of health and disease in a global perspective
- Have knowledge about culturally sensitive approaches to nursing in a multicultural society
- Have knowledge of public health measures nationally and globally
- Have knowledge of the transmission and prevalence of disease in a global perspective
- Have knowledge of health promotion and prevention in a global perspective
- Have knowledge of human rights in a national and global perspective

General competence
- Have a global perspective on factors that affect public health
- Have an ability to reflect on the nursing role in a global perspective
- Informed about how human rights are safeguarded with respect to the individual and society

Forkunnskapskrav

The required sequence of courses for the 1st and 2nd academic years.
This course is submitted to admission requirements. Attendance is restricted to graduate students at the bachelor programme in Nursing at NTNU, and to graduate students at cooperative Nursing educations.
