CV

Research areas: Citizenship and global sustainable development, forced migration, humanitarianism, the humanitarian-development-peace building nexus, slum upgrading, participatory urban planning, policy mobility, action research. 

Current teaching: Discourses of Development and Globalisation, Migration and the Humanitarian-Development nexus.  Programme Leader for the international interdisciplinary MSc Globalisation and Sustainable Development at NTNU. 

Have previously worked on:

  • Urban displacement (Refugee Law Project Uganda)
  • Slum upgrading, gender, youth, and community participation (Cities Alliance)
  • Emergency response rosters (Norwegian Refugee Council)

 

Current research projects:

EXPAND: Expanding the search for new ways of working along the Humanitarian-Development-Peace nexus (2024-2028) RCN (Participant, project lead, PRIO).

COSTCLIM: Collaborative Action for Strengthening Training Capacities in Climate Risk and Natural Resource management (2019-2025) NORPART (PI from 2023).

Social innovation - Co-creating humanitarian research impact (2023-2025). PI

Co-producing smart sustainable cities - the role of knowledge production in fast policymaking (PI together with Hilde N. Rørtveit).
