Dr Thomas Porathe er professor i interaktionsdesign ved NTNU i Trondheim. Han spesialiserer seg på human factors sjøfart og design av marine kart- og informasjonssystemer. Han har arbeidet med e-Navigasjon siden 2006 i EU-prosjekt som BLAST, EfficienSea, MONALISA, ACCSEAS og det ubemannede skipsprosjektet MUNIN. Han er aktiv i IALAs ARM kommitté.

 

Previous positions
Professor Porathe has a Ph.D. in information design from Malardalen University in Sweden. His dissertation was titled “3-D Nautical Charts and Safe Navigation” and published in 2006.
2000-2009 Assistant professor of Information Design at Malardalen University, Sweden
2009-2014 Associate professor of Maritime Human Factors at Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden

Present positions
2014- full professor of Interaction Design at Norwegian University of Science And Technology in Trondheim, Norway
