Bakgrunn og aktiviteter
Energi er et av NTNU's fire tematiske satsningsområder (TSO Energi). Lederne for disse områdene skal lede, utvikle og følge opp NTNUs satsning basert på faglig utvikling og internasjonale utviklingstrekk i nært samarbeid med ledere på fakultet og institutt, og med fagmiljøene. Videre skal de representere og posisjonere NTNU eksternt, og være kontaktpunkt mot politiske myndigheter, Forskningsrådet, og internasjonale aktører innenfor satsingenes tema. De tematiske områdene er i dag tilknyttet et vertsfakultet og for energi er det Fakultet for ingeniørvitenskap.
