Ieva Salkauskiene
Om
Ieva Salkauskiene is a PhD candidate in Social Work at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), specializing in child welfare. Her doctoral project explores how child welfare professionals and children communicate and build trust within the context of in-home support measures. Through ethnographic fieldwork at the Norwegian Child Welfare Services, her research examines the interactional dynamics that facilitate collaboration in support processes. Her work contributes to developing child-centered practices that strengthen communication, trust, and relationship-building in welfare settings. The PhD project is planned for completion by May 2026.
Ieva holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Lithuania and an MPhil in Childhood Studies from NTNU, combining international and interdisciplinary perspectives in her research. She is an active member of several research groups at the Department of Social Work, with her primary affiliation in Medvirkende barn og unge (Participatory Children and Youth).
