Alf Steinar Sætre
Bakgrunn og aktiviteter
Alf Steinar Sætre er professor i innovasjon og strategi på Institutt for industriell økonomi og teknologiledelse ved NTNU i Trondheim. Han initierte og ledet Norwegian Research School in Innovation sitt Program in Innovation Management and Innovation Strategy (NORSI-PIMS). Som er en forskerskole i innovasjon og strategi i samarbeid med ledende internasjonale fagmiljø som Harvard Business School, INSEAD, Wharton Graduate School of Business, Stanford University, Technion, Politechnico di Milano, University of Texas og UC Berkeley.
Hans forskningsinteresser omfavner håndtering av tvetydighet i innovasjonsprosesser, terminering av innovasjonsprosjekter, søk etter nye muligheter, organisasjoners evne til å ta til seg ny kunnskap og innovasjonsstrategi.
Han er utdannet siviløkonom fra Norges Handelshøyskole i Bergen. Han har videre en Ph.D. fra the University of Texas at Austin, hvor han var Fulbright Scholar og Research Associate ved Institute for Creativity and Capital (IC2). Der han var en del av et team som forsket på ”agile business practices.” I sitt doktorgradsarbeide forsket han på kommunikasjon og beslutningstaking i innovative organisasjonsformer. Etter å ha fullført sin Ph.D. i 1997 var Alf Steinar Saetre ansatt som førsteamanuensis ved Høgskolen i Lillehammer. Sætre kom til NTNU i 1999.
