Bakgrunn og aktiviteter

Jeg er professor i navigasjon og fartøstyring ved Institutt for teknisk kybernetikk, NTNU. Jeg har studert marin teknikk, aero- og astronautikk, datateknikk og kybernetikk.

Mine forskningsområder er:

  • Systemer for gaiding, navigasjon og bevegelsestyring (GNC): autonome og intelligente systemer, feltroboter, fartøydynamikk inkludert multilegemeer, hydrodynamikk, aerodynamikk, fartøysimulatorer, ubemannede fartøy (UAV, AUV, USV), autopiloter, følgeregulering og banestyring.
  • Treghetsnavigasjonssystemer: GNSS- og kompassblokkert navigasjon, kamera- og lidarsstøttede systemer, attitydeestimering, automatisk situasjonsforståelse, sensorfusjon og tilstandsestimering, ulineære estimatorer, Kalman-filtrering. 
  • Cybersikkerhet: sanntids kryptering av pådrag og sensorsdata i tilbakekoblete systemer med store datamengder, kryptologi, strøm chiffer algoritmer, AES, synkronisering, autentiseringsmetoder.

Jeg er en av gründerne av selskapet Marine Cyberentics AS (2002) som i dag er en del av de maritime tjenestene i DNV GL. Jeg er også en av gründerne av selskapet SCOUT Drone Inspection AS (2017) og jeg er involvert i flere andre høyteknologiselskaper i Trondheimsregionen.
