Combustion and Emissions Study of New Renewable Hydrothermal Liquefaction (HTL) Biofuel in an Optical Engine
➢ Conducted comprehensive research on biofuel derived from municipal solid waste (MSW), emphasizing its potential as a sustainable fuel in compression ignition engines.
➢ Investigated the impact of blending HTL biofuel and diesel on combustion and emissions, and performed comparative analysis of non-upgraded and upgraded HTL biofuel in these contexts.
➢ Performed experiments in an optically accessible compression ignition chamber (OACIC), simulating realistic engine thermodynamic conditions.
➢ Research contributes to the broader field by enhancing our understanding of biomass conversion energy utilization and advocating for the use of HTL biofuel in engines as a viable renewable alternative fuel.
➢ This project is funded by Bio4Fuels (FME) of the Research Council of Norway and involves collaborative work with Aalborg University, Denmark.
