Microproportioning with Crushed Sand (MiKS)

Microproportioning with Crushed Sand (MiKS) is a research project, investigating the effect of crushed sand on concrete rheology.

NEWSCEM - New Supplementary Materials (SCMs) in Cement Production

The primary objective was to determine which SCMs, and combinations of SCMs, that will allow Norcem to continue to increase the use of SCMs in their products in a situation where the availability of high quality fly-ash is diminishing.

SUPERCON - Sprayed sUstainable PErmanent Robotized CONcrete tunnel lining

SUPERCON aimed to find solutions that make it possible to strengthen the "Norwegian way" of supporting tunnels as a time- and cost-effective tunnel concept, tailored to fit most rock conditions and variations in traffic density.

Sand production with VSI crushing and air classification: Optimising fines grading for concrete production with micro-proportioning

Crushed sand fines have a large effect on fresh concrete rheological properties, which can be controlled through a concrete micro-proportioning approach, i.e. optimisation of the particle size distribution in the very fine range of the grading (⩽250 μm).

Measuring Rheological Properties of Cement Pastes: Most common Techniques, Procedures and Challenges

This technical letter describes the most common techniques and procedures used to assess the rheological properties of cement paste, as well as challenges during measurements and actions to counter these challenges.

Carbonation of calcium sulfoaluminate belite binder: mechanism and its implication on properties

This study focuses on evaluating the microstructural and mechanical alterations due to carbonation in a calcium sulfoaluminate belite (CSAB) binder system and understanding the underlying mechanism of development of the carbonation front.

Neural network predictions of the simulated rheological response of cement paste in the FlowCyl

In this study, two artificial neural networks, multi-layer perceptron and radial basis function, are trained by results of a CFD model that simulates the cement flow in the FlowCyl equipment.

[PATENT] A jointless concrete composite pavement

The present invention provides a pavement system that avoids the need for traditional contraction joints regardless of dimension of the pavement, a hitherto unknown property for exterior pavements.

Pile-Supported Slabs for Sites with Poor Geotechnical Conditions

This article summarizes the basic slab-on-pile construction process and provides results from a load test conducted on a slab constructed using shrinkage-compensating steel fiber-reinforced concrete.

New type of crushed sand to replace natural sand in concrete production

The availability of natural sand for concrete production is facing challenges. This means that the industry has a huge need to solve this challenge by finding suitable technology for usable crushed sand production.

International team runs trials for low carbon cement in Estonia

In the spring of 2021 a full-scale clay calcination trial was carried out at one of the cement kilns of Kunda Nordic Tsement, Estonia.
