Nils Rüther
Om
Jeg har over 15 års erfaring innen vassdragsteknikk og sedimenttransport i elver og vannkrafmagasin. Min forskningsaktivitet er fokusert på 3D numerisk modellering av hydraulikk og sedimenttransport i fluvial miljø. Jeg har også bidratt til fremskritt i målingsteknologi for sedimenttransportkvantifisering i fluvialmiljø. Jeg har studert sedimenttransportprosesser fra et grunnforskningsperspektiv og anvendt kunnskap til ingeniørprosjekter knyttet til vasdrag og vannkraftdesign. Nylig har jeg vært involvert i prosjekt for sedimenthåndtering ved vannkraftverk.
Jeg har erfaring med lederskap som jeg har oppnådd i løpet av min tid som leder av vassdragsgruppe ved Institutt for vann- og miljøteknikk i 2011-2016. I tillegg var jeg ledende og involvert i strategiske forskningsplanleggingsgrupper ved NTNU. I løpet av min akademiske karriere har jeg vært veileder (og medveileder) til 1 post doktor student 10 doktorgradsstudenter, fire av dem har blitt ferdige, og over 35 MSc og BSc studenter.
Utfallet av arbeidet mitt ble publisert i over 14 peer-reviewed journal publikasjoner og over 25 konferansedokumenter. Han har vært korrekturleser for tidsskrifter som JHE, JHR, AWR, WWR, Flow måling og instrumentering, Geomorfologi, IJSR, Joh, og mange flere. Han har også vært i den lokale organisasjonsutvalget av 2 konferanser og flere verksteder, samt i den vitenskapelige komiteen på 3 konferanser.
Jeg er ansvarlig for 2 master nivå kurs, Hydraulisk design av Hydro kraftverk samt hovedverk og sedimentation engineering i Hydro Power Development kurset på vår avdeling.
