Josefina Pelaez Zuberbuhler obtained her Ph.D in Work and Organizational Psychology from Universitat Jaume I, Spain, and is currently a post-doctoral fellow associated to Karolinska Institutet (Unit of Occupational Medicine). She is part of the Sustainable work & occupational safety and health (SWOSH) research group. leaded by Emma Brulin at Karolinska Institutet, and also part of the Healthy Workplaces research group leaded by Marit Christensen and Siw Tone Instrand at NTNU.
She is also part of the Horizon 2020 European project “H-WORK: multilevel interventions to promote mental health in SMEs and public workplaces”. She was involved in this project as a post-doc researcher for three years (2020-2023) in Universitat Jaume I, and one of her main roles was to co-lead tasks related to collecting and integrating the consortium expertise related to best practices and EU policies on mental health promotion at the workplace. She also had an important role coordinating the intervention phases in the Spanish intervention sites, contributing to the design, implementation and evaluation of interventions from a Realist Approach.
She worked for several years in "WANT_Psychosocial Prevention and Healthy Organizations” research group, from Universitat Jaume I, Spain, involved in various competitive research projects. She is also a certified Coaching Psychologist, with active participation in R&D&I projects related to HR consultancy on psychosocial risk prevention, and employee training and development through applied positive psychology interventions (i.e., strength-based interventions, coaching, leadership, stress management, development of healthy organizational practices).
She has also teaching and supervising experience in Master programs from several universities, including NTNU, Karolinska Institutet, Universitat Jaume I, among others.
Josefina conducts research on the identification of psychosocial risk and protective factors in the workplace, the promotion of healthy and resilient organizations, and the design and evaluation of organizational and multilevel interventions aimed at improving mental health, work engagement and well-being.
