Janet is a PhD candidate in Medical Technology at the Department of Clinical and Molecular Medicine (IKOM). She is a smart, enthusiastic and hardworking woman who is interested in everything related to technology and biology. She graduated cum laude from master programs in both Biomedical Engineering and Nanotechnology at the University of Twente in the Netherlands, and completed an internship at the Wyss Institute of Biologically Inspired Engineering at Harvard University. Her aim is to combine different disciplines like physics, chemistry and biology to provide solutions for problems in healthcare. She focusses on using (nano)technological materials and products to influence and control cellular processes. She is mainly interested in lab- and organ-on-a-chip devices for drug testing and other applications, as well as in developments for targeted drug delivery.
