Resolving biology’s dark matter: species richness, spatiotemporal distribution, and community composition of a dark taxon

We use megabarcoding to assess a model dark taxon, investigating species diversity, variation across time and space, and the environmental drivers. We demonstrate how dark taxon research can provide critical insights in the era of climate change.
