Jeg er professor i økonomi ved institutt for samfunnsøkonomi ved NTNU i Trondheim. Jeg var tidligere førsteamanuensis i økonomi ved School of Economics ved University of East Anglia (UEA) i Storbritannia. Før det var jeg forskningslektor ved Institutt for økonomi ved NTNU, og postdoktor og foreleser ved Senter for økonomisk forskning ved ETH Zürich i Sveits. Jeg tok doktorgraden min i økonomi fra Universitetet i Zürich. Jeg er tilknyttet CESifo Network, medlem av CSERGE ved UEA, forsker ved Tyndall Center for Climate Change Research, medlem av komiteen for miljø- og ressursøkonomi i den tyske økonomiske foreningen (Verein für Socialpolitik), og en ekstern forskningsmedlem ved OxCarre, University of Oxford (UK). Jeg er medredaktør og redaksjonsmedlem for tidsskriftet Environmental and Resource Economics, assisterende redaktør for Frontiers in Environmental Economics-seksjonen om ressursøkonomi, og medredaktør (sammen med P.
