Research Focus
I investigate the structural and functional properties underlying efficient neural network communication, with a specific focus on understanding neuroplasticity and synaptic dysfunction in neurodegenerative diseases. Combining methods such as extracellular recordings of patient-derived neural networks (including high density micro-electrode arrays), transcriptomics/proteomics, image analysis and computational modeling, the overall aim is to identify how micro- and mesoscale changes influence network dynamics, and how such processes may be targeted to slow down disease progression.
