Research protocol, ethical aspects of research, study designs, bias and confounding, interaction, descriptive statistics. probability, probability distributions, random error, hypothesis tests.
Læringsformer og aktiviteter
This course will be teached in Nepal, Kathmandu University.
Homework in advance of the course: Write a draft of research protocol to be used in course workshops.
3 weeks full time course with lectures, workshops and group works.
Week one: Research protocol and Ethics in medical research.
Week two: Epidemiology and Critical reading.
Week three: Medical statistics.
Research protocol draft is mandatory (for access to course exam)
All course activities is mandatory. Leave/Absence can be granted for maximum 20% of the total course activities. According to NTNU's regulations, access to course exam will be denied if absence is over 20% .
Vurderingsmelding krever godkjent undervisningsmelding samme semester. Obligatorisk aktivitet fra tidligere semester kan godkjennes av instituttet.
Admission to a PhD programme, or documented Masters degree or equivalent, and documented English language proficiency (IELTS/TOEFEL).
Others with less formal competence can be accepted as participants to a Non Credit Course. Such admittion will be considered individually
