About me: Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering. Research interests include engineering design, prototyping, haptic feedback, surgical simulation, biomechanics and maritime technology. Keen skier.

Short CV: I graduated with a masters degree in Engineering Design and Materials from the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at NTNU in 2016. From 2016 to 2020, I served as a mechanical design engineer in applied research and development at Prototech AS, working with subsea robotics, flow measurement technology, fuel cell systems for space applications, and metal additive manufacturing. From 2020 to 2025 I did a Ph.D. in Engineering Cybernetics working on haptic feedback for arthroscopic surgical simulation. From 2025, I have been an Associate Professor at the Department of Ocean Operations and Civil Engineering at NTNU.

Forskning

My research focuses on simulation technology, and digital twins, engineering design and prototyping. This includes the development of interactive surgical simulators with haptic feedback—building on my PhD work in haptic technology—and the use of simulation tools in various engineering applications. I also do engineering design and prototyping with a focus on maritime technology.

Toward a Digital Twin for Arthroscopic Knee Surgery: A Systematic Review

In this paper, we present our vision of how arthroscopic surgical simulation can be expanded towards a "digital twin", by including patient-specific anatomy and patient specific haptic interactions.
