Nathan Robert Scrimgeour
Om
Nathan has a 50% position as an engineer at K. G. Jebsen – Center of Exercise in Medicine and a 50% position as project engineer for Dr. Morten Høydal, both within the Department of Circulation and Diagnostic Imaging at NTNU.
Nathan completed his PhD in 2012 in his hometown at the University of Adelaide, Australia. There he studied the biochemical and biophysical properties of store operated Ca2+ channels. In his time since at NTNU he has applied his skills as a patch clamp electrophysiologist to help to characterise the electrophysiological and Ca2+ handling properties of the heart in exercise and disease animal models.
In addition to patch clamp electrophysiology, Nathan also has technical expertise in cell culture, molecular biology and laboratory animal handling techniques.
