[Updated July 2023]
I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Marine Technology, and I am involved in the process of writing my doctoral dissertation. My principal area of research is Arctic shipping safety. I have developed different risk models for Arctic shipping accidents, such as ship besetting in ice and icebreaker-ship collision. I have also analyzed the safe distance between an icebreaker and a ship in escort/convoy operations. The results of my work could be integrated with route planning to calculate emissions from maritime traffic and contribute to safer operations and the mitigation of the adverse effects of accidents. Arctic challenges are my great passion.
