Filip Ivanovic was born in Montenegro, in 1986.

He earned his Bachelor and Master's degrees at the Department of Philosophy of the University of Bologna.

In September 2010, he joined the NTNU's Department of Archaeology and Religious Studies as a research fellow with the project entitled "The Erotic-Aesthetic Dimension of Deification: Love and Beauty in Dionysius the Areopagite and Maximus the Confessor".

His interests include Greek and Byzantine philosophy, patristics, Church history, and Christian theology.
