    Droplets and deep learning

by Per Henning 13. september 2021

Artificial intelligence and machine learning are becoming a part of our everyday life in the form of self-driving cars or smart (digital) assistants. Here, we used artificial intelligence for detecting droplets, recorded with high-speed imaging, to speed up the entire analysis process.

    Power to the Modeller

by Robert Pujan and Heinz A. Preistig 13. april 2021

Modelling chemical and biological processes is actually a multi-scale as well as a multi-disciplinary problem that requires expert knowledge from different scientific domains. This circumstance often turns model design into a time-consuming and elaborate task.

When little things have a big impact

by Vanja Buvik and Hanna Knuutila 19. februar 2021

Sometimes, it’s the tiniest things that ruin the day, be it a mosquito in your bedroom, a splinter in your toe, or a tiny hole in the tube of your bike’s wheel. This can also be the case with oxygen in a CO2 capture process – there’s not much of it, but it can be pretty problematic.

Absorbing CO2 into solutions without water

by Ricardo Ramos Wanderley 1. oktober 2020

Water is cheap, non-toxic and easily available. But is it the best choice for environmentally friendly CO2 capture with amine solvents?
