CenSES Annual Conference
One of this year’s highlights was the CenSES an-
nual conference 29 - 30 November in Oslo, where
we had a focus on aspects related to interna-
tionalization of CenSES research and coopera-
tion with our international research partners.
This year’s conference brought together over 60
researchers, user partners and PhD candidates
Scenario studies had an important place during
these two days. Benjamin Smith from Nordic En-
ergy Research presented Nordic Energy Technology
Perspectives. Chrisitian Skar, Asgeir Tomasgard and
Andreas Schröder (DIW Berlin) presented model
results from infrastructure investment analysis in
Europe. While the global reports from IEA and IPCC
draws the large overall picture, CenSES researchers
try to draw more detailed pictures of development.

UngEnergi
UngEnergi is a project aimed at improving high
school students’ understanding of topics within re-
newable and environment-friendly energy. The pro-
ject is managed by CenSES and other participants
are SFFE (Centre for renewable energy), Sør-Trøn-
delag County Authority, The Norwegian Smartgrid
Centre, NTNU, SINTEF and several of the other FME
centres.
UngEnergi has now launched a web site on renew-
able energy written by young people, for young
people. All contents, the web site design and most
of the animations have been made by youths aged
16 - 21. The aim of giving high school students con-
trol over the format and content is to ensure the in-
formation will not be too technical, and thus easier
to understand.
The objective of this project is to provide interest-
ing and easy to understand information on different
topics within renewable energy to youths, and to be
a national resource for both teachers and students
at high school level.
The web site contains information on various re-
newable energy resources and environmental tech-
nologies, as well as environmental policy measures
and environment-friendly transport solutions. In
addition, questions and quizzes are available for
most of the topics. You will also find interviews and
news reports on current issues, among others re-
ports from a Tesla Roadster test drive and a visit to
the Powerhouse project.
In collaboration with Kunnskapsløypa (from NTNU
School of Entrepreneurship), the editorial team is
working on producing videos on different renew-
able energy topics. The videos will be published on
the web site continuously.
