The Eclipse Integrated Development Environment (IDE) is both an important tool for model-based development and component-based design, and a good example of the design techniques covered in the course.

Eclipse is an extensible platform with a plethora of so-called plug-ins for a wide range of development activities. To support a specific kind, you install relevant plug-ins on top of the core Eclipse platform.
