Design Thinking (w/ paper and extended model by Morten Sagstuen)
"The Extended Design Thinking Model" - the well known methodology and philosophy and visual model including "design for manufacture" and the goals of circular manufacturing.

problem, generating ideas for various solutions,

"ABSTRACT
Design Thinking, also known as Design Driven Innovation, is an approach to encourage innovation within
education, business, and public institutions. Over time, several variations of "Design Thinking" have been
developed, the underlying philosophy is largely the same with some variations in content, processes, and
methodology. The aim of describing and visualizing this variant of the model is to contribute to an
increased understanding and use of Design Thinking as a methodology and as a process. The focus in
developing this extended version has been to make it a holistic didactic and pedagogical tool in the
educating of students. It has been developed to adapt and include the complexity involved in
transitioning to more circular economy and production than we have today. The graphical model is
designed to visualize and clarify the technological aspect and its connection to the circular economy and
a more sustainable production as the comprehensive goal. The design and content of the model are not
general, but tailored to studies in Industrial Design, Product Design, and Industrial Design Engineering.
Currently the model is used in the Bachelor program Product Design and Technology at the Norwegian
University of Science and Technology, NTNU, Gjøvik. Along with its underlying methods and processes,
the graphical model serves as a didactic framework for conducting courses and for creating new content
to develop a forward looking curriculum in Product Design and Technology.

Henning Johansen still maintains the wordpress website based on many years of teaching courses on materials technology and materials science.
