Emnet undervises annet hvert år, neste gang høst 2010.

This course focuses on challenges and opportunities that arise from the introduction of technology in learning and teaching, with the assumption that a technology rich learning and teaching context is qualitatively different than one without technology.

In the selected syllabus technology is approached in a pragmatic way, focusing on how technology in real life is incorporated into practices found in business and education. The overall perspective acknowledges that what technology ´is ´ dependents on a complex interplay between people, their agenda and intentions, the affordances of technology (what technology lends itself to), how technology may be appropriated, etc.

The course will present activity theory and its role in the design and evaluation of systems supporting collaborative learning, the notion of information ecologies, and in general issues that are core in groups that collaborate to develop knowledge in technology rich environments.
