Marine Day

70% of the earth is covered by oceans, yet we use only 2% of its resources and have explored less than 10% of the deep seas. The Ocean Space is shared by mankindand therefore of global concern. A sustainable use of the oceans, seas and marine resources has been appointed by the UN as one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the United Nations.

The Marine Day will shed light on science and technology that will pave the way towards a responsible use of ocean resources – at present and for future generations.

Time: 21 June, 09.00–12.00
Place: Kunnskapssenteret (Olav Kyrres gate 17), Auditorium KA 12
