Paul Heberts presentation will address one of the great scientific challenges of our times — how humanity should respond to the impending extinction of many species.
He will argue we have two responsibilities:
- Firstly, we must secure the history of life by building a DNA archive that includes all species.
- Secondly, we must ensure no net loss of biodiversity by using genomic approaches to rescue endangered species and create new ones.
