Chairman of the Board, Svein Richard Brandtzæg, informed the Board today that he is resigning as Chairman of NTNU’s Board. Brandtzæg has been chairman for seven years and says that a change of chairman would in any case be natural next year. He has been offered other demanding board positions, and says that the time is right to pass on the baton to the next chairman.
– I would like to take this opportunity to thank my colleagues at NTNU’s Board, and I would also like to thank NTNU’s administration, with Rector Anne Borg at the forefront, for exceptionally good collaboration during a period of many demanding and important issues for the university. NTNU is well equipped for the future and the social mission it has undertaken as Norway’s largest university, and it will continue to contribute knowledge for a better world, says Svein Richard Brandtzæg.
He adds that he also wishes to thank the Ministry of Education, the Minister of Education, and Director General Knut Børve for excellent and professional cooperation during his years as chairman.
The Ministry of Education and Research has appointed Nils Kristian Nakstad, CEO of Enova, as new chairman of NTNU’s board for the period from 13 March 2020 to 31 July 2021.
