Aftenposten is looking for a young, motivated developer to join Schibsted Media’s Summer Internship Program. This summer we are opening our doors to students who want to gain hands-on experience and practice their skills.

About the internship

  • You'll join us for 2 months (June-July 2023) on a full time basis. The internship is paid.

  • You'll be given your own tasks and guidance from senior developers.

  • You'll be able to use technologies you know on in-production, user-facing products.

  • You'll work closely with the product and UX part of the team and gain experience being part of a larger team.

  • At the end of the internship period, you'll present a summary of your time with us (learnings, ideas and findings).

About you:

  • You’d like to experience what it’s like to work as a software engineer on production ready, user-facing products.

  • You find Typescript, React/Handlebars, SASS fun to work with.

  • You’re comfortable writing code and have some experience working with version control tools like Git.

  • You’re a 3rd to 5th year student (or you have relevant experience and/or interest).

  • Your English skills are good (written/spoken).

  • You like to experiment with technology and have ideas you’d like to see implemented.

  • You’re proactive and like identifying areas of improvement.

We are responsible for our user facing products, such as aftenposten.no, our native iOS/Android apps as well niche services

We work closely with one of the best and most respected editorial departments in Norway and collaborate with other Schibsted newspapers (e.g. VG, Bergens Tidende).

Experimentation and exploring is a large part of what we do and we’re always ready to try new things, be it an all new service/product or new solutions to existing ones.
