Are you a creative coder or designer passionate about computer graphics, extended reality, artificial intelligence, or the future of the internet? If your answer is yes, apply for the Summer Internship 2023 at Schibsted Futures Lab! Join us this summer and gain hands-on experience building prototypes using emerging technology.

In this internship

  • You will work with the team to create and iterate on prototypes that can be tested.
  • You will help extract and communicate learnings from these prototypes, ensuring that opportunities and threats impacting Schibsted are considered within the organisation.
  • You will have your own project and experiments to drive, following each step through exploration, research and prototyping.
  • You will receive guidance from a senior mentor who will support you throughout the internship.
  • At the end of the internship, you will present a summary of the project, what was learned, potential next steps, and key findings.
  • You will join us full-time for 8 weeks (6 weeks + 2 weeks vacation) from mid-June to mid-August.
  • You will be working mostly at our office in Grensen in downtown Oslo (we do not support relocations)

About you

  • You like exploring new things and testing new technologies.
  • You are pragmatic towards problem solving, proactive, and self-driven.
  • You are preferably a 3rd to 5th year masters student.
  • You have good English skills, and are not afraid to communicate your ideas and opinions effectively.
  • You like to challenge yourself.
  • You have related work/prototypes (includes school projects) to highlight.

If you are a creative coder

  • You are versatile and learn by doing.
  • You are comfortable with writing code and working with different languages.
  • You have experience with deploying and hosting prototypes.
  • You have experience using and implementing 3rd party APIs.

If you are a designer

  • You are a visual thinker and communicator.
  • You can generate multiple solutions to a problem, and have ideas about how to test them.
  • You can translate research, trends, and user insights stories into and propose design proposals, approaches or services to meet these needs and engage in meaningful interactions and relationships with users.
  • You can apply your technical knowledge and experience to create workable prototypes using a range of 2D and 3D tools.
