Academic Writing Night on the 4th of October 2017

Do you struggle with your academic writing? Is it difficult to find good literature/information sources? Are your references a bit of a mess?

Then the academic writing night on the 4th of October at Gløshaugen could be the right solution for you.

You can come and go as you please, and you can either write on your own or get help from learning assistants and professionals. You can participate in individual guidance, workshops and lectures on academic writing, literature search, reference management, motivation & study techniques.

This academic writing night is an offer to all students at NTNU. You can benefit from the evening regardless of how far you have come in your studies. Bring the text you want to work on and any relevant literature you might have.

You are welcome between 3pm and 9pm at U1 at the Natural Science Building and it would be great if you would register for the evening in advance (but it’s not necessary in order to participate): http://www.kurspaamelding.no/ntnu-ub/index.php?kursid=148&dato=363&paamelding=ja&groupid=171

Alerts – information about topics or authors of interest

Through the Library you have access to databases (Web of Science; SCOPUS; Compendex) in which you can create alerts to ensure that you get information about topics or authors of interest. These alerts will notify you by email and can be specified to track the following:

  • new papers published by a specific author or new papers on a specific topic
  • to learn when a specific paper has been cited by new papers added to the database
  • to receive table of contents of new journal issues

To learn how to create citation alerts review the Web of Science – Citation Alerts tutorial.
