Thea S. Thorsen is an Associate Professor of Classics at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and the author of a number of scholarly publications, four metrical translations of the Roman poet Ovid into Norwegian verse, essays and fiction. Her publications in English include Roman Receptions of Sappho (contributing co-editor, Oxford University Press), Dynamics of Ancient Prose (contributing co-editor, De Gruyter), Ovid’s Early Poetry (sole author, Cambridge University Press, 2014), The Cambridge Companion to Latin Love Elegy (contributing sole editor, Cambridge University Press, 2013) and Greek and Roman Games in the Computer Age (editor, Akademika Publishing, 2012).

Thorsen is currently leading the research project The Heterosexual Tradition of Homoerotic Poetics, funded by the Research Council of Norway, and was elected memeber of the Outstanding Academic Fellow Program at NTNU in 2015.
