Summer exhibition at Kunsthall Trondheim
THORA DOLVEN BALKE (Norway), ANN IREN BUAN (Norway), BRIT DYRNES (Norway), TIBOR HAJAS (Hungary), ÉVA MAG (Romania/Sweden), FRANCESCA WOODMAN (USA)
The exhibition shows works of art by six international artists, of which two are related to Trøndelag. The exhibition shows sculptures and photographs that mirror the human body’s conditions in the world. In various ways, the works speak that the body is in constant exchange with its surroundings and on its way to dissolving; One can say an eternal state of emergency. Furthermore, we see that the body consists of materials like everything else, and that everything else is characterized by time, climate and conditions. Through the artworks, the body is drawn away from the aesthetics of advertising aesthetics and shows the body as it is: strong, frail and caring.
The exhibition presents four Nordic artists together with two central art historical references. The exhibition’s curator is Helena Holmberg.
Sculpture “Castles (Dark Aqua)” by Ann Iren Buan, surrounded by work by Thora Dolven Balke and Brit Dyrnes.
