Bakgrunn og aktiviteter
Maria is a PhD candidate at NTNU’s Production Management group, the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering. Her research focuses on the topics of Manufacturing Relocation, Production Start-up, Supply Chain Risk Management and Supplier Performance Management, and this research is financed by the Norwegian Research Council, through the SoundChain project (http://www.ntnu.no/soundchain). Through SoundChain, Maria also collaborates with SINTEF- the largest independent research organisation in Scandinavia, and with two leading designers and producers of high techs, Kongsberg Maritime Subsea and Hapro.
Before embarking on the PhD journey, Maria had worked as an engineer in NOV- an American multinational corporation designing and producing equipment for the oil and gas industry, for the Nordic insurance company Tryg, and for various other organizations. With a MEng. within Industrial Design and Technology, a Master's degree within Risk Management, and a Bachelor of Law, she has both worked with management and operational tasks.
Before working for NOV, Maria had graduated at Norway largest university, the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, writing her thesis with DNV GL, an international certification body and classification society with a focus on safeguarding life, property and the environment.
In her free time, Maria likes to restore furniture and to do activities that broaden her horizons.
