Bakgrunn og aktiviteter

I am doing my PhD in Applied Maths under the supervision of Elena Celledoni, Brynjulf Owren and Helge I Andersson and am a member of the Differential equations and Numerical Analysis group. I completed my B.Sc in Physics and Electrical Engineering in 2015 and my Masters of Physics in 2016, both from the University of Western Australia. Since starting my PhD at NTNU in 2017, I have also been a visiting student at the University of Cambridge, UK, La Trobe University, Australia and Massey University, New Zealand.  

My interestests involve using structure preserving numerical methods for solving problems in computational physics, including integrable systems, classical mechanics and fluid dynamics, for example. I am currently working on a number of problems including:

  • Numerical methods for  particle dynamics in turbulence 
  • Detecting and determining integrals and preserved quantities of discrete maps for ordinary differential equations
  • Symplectic integration of Hamiltonian partial differential equations
