Summary
You have completed the module Evaluating Information.
You have learned how to evaluate information based on these four criteria:
- Reliability
- Objectivity
- Accuracy
- Relevance
You can use ROAR (Reliability, Objectivity, Accuracy and Relevance) as a helping tool when evaluating a source of information.
ROAR can help you ask the right questions, but in the end, you must be the final judge. You are the one who must separate good quality information from information of poor quality.
Even though our examples are taken from the Internet, you should use this type of critical evaluation for all types of information sources.
