1 PhD position at the Faculty of Humanities

The aim of the project is to study consequences of Norwegian state-building in the tributary Norse provinces and the relationship between the Realm of Norway and its western, northern, and eastern periphery c.1260–c.1380. Applicants are welcome to define a project of their own within this frame, and are required to present a project plan.


PHD POSITION IN APPLIED ETHICS

1 PHD RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP POSITION: GEOMETRIC NUMERICAL INTEGRATION IN APPLICATIONS (GeNuIn Applications)

Applications of interest are problems in engineering of marine control structures. Emphasis is given to both development and analysis of new and improved schemes for such problems. The position will start the 1st of August 2010.


POSTDOCTORAL POSITION AT NTNU – FACULTY OF HUMANITIES
(Application deadline: April 12, 2010)
The research project should deal with a historical topic from the period 1500-1850. 30% of the postdoctoral period is set aside for required duties. In addition to teaching, the required duties will include work connected to the implementation of the project Beyond Borders: Transnational movements through history financed through the Norwegian Research Council.


PROFESSOR/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR IN ENERGY AND PROCESS ENGINEERING (Fluids engineering/Fluid dynamics/Fluid mechanics)

A strong scientific background in fluid mechanics is a general prerequisite, and preference will be given to the candidate having a strong background in fluid mechanics related to power extraction from either wind or water waves. This is due to an increased focus on renewable energy from air and sea environments.


Professorship/Qualification Fellowship in Civil and Transport Engineering (Real Estate Management)

Weight will be placed on pedagogical skills. The evaluation of the candidate will be based on documented pedagogical material, including pedagogical education/training, the presentation of academic work, experience from supervising masters-level students and doctoral candidates, and teaching as well as other educational matters. The evaluation will consider both the quality and the scope.


Postdoctoral position in Cultural Studies
(Application deadline: April 20, 2010)
The postdoctoral project will be a study of the production of images of the interior of the human body on the cellular level. The research method includes fieldwork in an image laboratory and interviews with research scientists.
