DISSEMINATION
Internally SAMCoT provides its partners with periodical information on its research
activities through quarterly newsletters and two annual workshops.
In terms of the impact of SAMCoT activities on the mass media, this year has been very
fruitful with participation in several international events and the coverage of our activities
by renowned international newspapers such as
The Guardian
.
A key event in 2013 was the 22
nd
International Conference on Port and Ocean Engineering
under Arctic Conditions (POAC) in Helsinki. Here SAMCoT presented 27 papers. Wenjun
Lu, a SAMCoT PhD candidate, received the award for the best student paper.
In addition to SAMCoT
’
s success at POAC`13, NTNU/SAMCoT was elected to be the host
for the following event, POAC`15 which will be held in Trondheim from 14 to 18 June 2015.
Such an international event is the ideal platform to communicate SAMCoT
’
s scientific
achievements.
The Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) continues to have an important role at SAMCoT,
providing the Centre with the necessary research quality assurance. In addition, the
SAC monitors all educational aspects of SAMCoT. All SAC members are key players in
supporting our international aspirations and expanding its international network.
