ABOUT THE AUTHORS
Harald Arnkil
is an artist, educator and colour researcher,
trained in fine art (painting) in the Finnish Academy of Art in
Helsinki. Since 1990 he has worked as Lecturer in Colour Stud-
ies at the Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architec-
ture, and besides teaching he is presently pursuing doctoral
studies and research in the field of colour. Arnkil’s publications
include a large handbook on colour.

Karin Fridell Anter
is an architect SAR/MSA and PhD in Archi-
tecture, specialized on colour in the built environment and the
author of several books on colour. She is associate professor
at the Royal Institute of Technology, and has lead the SYN-TES
research project at University College of Arts, Crafts and De-
sign, both in Stockholm. She also belongs to the Light & Colour
Group at NTNU.

Charlotte Louise Jensen
is a PhD candidate at Aalborg Universi-
ty (AAU) Copenhagen in Denmark. She is researching sustain-
ability transitions, with special attention to lighting and related
energy consumption.

Ulf Klarén
is a researcher, writer and lecturer on perception,
colour and light. Until his retirement in 2011, he was associ-
ate professor and head of The Perception Studio at Konstfack,
University College of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm,
Sweden. Ulf Klarén’s publications include a textbook on colour
and several scientific reports and contributions to anthologies.

John Mardaljevic
(PhD, FSLL) is Professor of Building Day-
light Modelling at the School of Civil & Building Engineering,
Loughborough University, UK. He currently serves as the ‘UK
Principal Expert on Daylight’ for the European Committee for
Standardisation CEN / TC 169 WG11, and on a number of Inter-
national Commission on Illumination (CIE) technical commit-
tees. In 2012 Mardaljevic was presented the Lighting Award by
the UK Society for Light and Lighting.

Claudia Moscoso
is a professional architect and member of the
Architects Association of Peru. She is currently a PhD Candi-
date at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology,
where she researches and is involved with teaching related
duties. She belongs to the Light and Colour Group at NTNU.

Susanna Nordin
is a registered nurse and PhD student at the
Department of Neurobiology, Care Science and Society, Karo-
linska Institutet in Stockholm. She also works as a lecturer
at Högskolan Dalarna in Falun. The research project aims at
examining the relationships among the quality of the physical
environment, the quality of life of residents and the quality of
care provided in Swedish nursing home facilities.

Kjell Yngve Petersen
is a transdisciplinary researcher and
theatre director, and he holds a Ph.D. in integrative arts, spe-
cialized in intermediality composition and telematic relation
work. He is an associate professor and head of section CAOS
(Culture, Aesthetics, Organisations & Society), IT University of
Copenhagen.

Barbara Szybinska Matusiak
is an architect NAL and PhD in
Architecture, specialized on daylight in the built environment.
She is Professor at the Norwegian University of Science and
Technology and the leader of the Department of Architectural
Design, Form and Colour Studies. She is also the leader of the
Light & Colour Group at NTNU.

Karin Søndergaard
is a performance and installation artist, and
she holds a Ph.D. in integrative arts, specialized in methods of
experiential and participatory processes in arts and design. She
is associate professor and head of Architectural Lighting lab,
The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture,
Design and Conservation.

Helle Wijk
is a registered nurse and associate professor at Go-
thenburg University, Institute of Caring Science. Her research
focus is on adaption of the health care environment in order to
meet patient needs and to support staff requirements.

Veronika Zaikina
is an architect, graduated from Kazan State
University of Architecture and Building Constructions (Ka-
zan, Russian Federation). Since 2011 she is a PhD candidate
at NTNU, supervised by Professor Barbara Matusiak. Her
professional interests are lighting, daylighting, colour and HDR
imaging. She also belongs to Light and Colour Group at NTNU.
